6 minutes drive – This is an idyllic spot to while away a quiet afternoon. Just around the corner from the glorious sandy stretch of Westward Ho! It’s quieter and still has sand to stroll along even when the tide is in.

Instow Beach

Instow Beach – 12 minutes by car or a 15 minute boat ride - Located on the edge of the Torridge estuary, Instow beach is blessed with fine, soft sand. As the beach doesn’t face directly into the Atlantic its sheltered from the surf.

Royal North Devon Golf Club

Between Appledore to Northam Burrows Country Park you will find the Royal North Devon Golf Club which was founded in 1864, the oldest golf course in England and is regarded as the St Andrews of the South.
